The Problem
A low traffic location and plenty of competition made it hard for a new restaurant to differentiate itself.
How does an unknown establishment make itself stand out from the crowd? A small advertising budget made it essential to target the right potential customers and entice them to try something new.

The Process
Close involvement of the on-air staff with the marketing team brought a personal touch to the advertising. Karen's brings food in for dee-jays to sample and endorse. Karen's provides food for various station events where she can interact with listeners and attract new customers.

The Plan
A plan combining live on-air endorsements at mealtimes and "tasting" by Uncle Sam Kapu at lunchtime brought the restaurant to life on the radio.

The Performance
Karen attributes 40% of her restaurant's revenue to customers who first heard of her on KINE-FM.

KINE-FM brought them in and Karen has kept them happy and coming back. Karen's Kitchen is never far from the minds of the listeners!
