As a child in the early 50's, my Mom, who never made it to Hawaii, brought me up listening to Hawaiian music in Alabama and spending evenings listening to "Hawaii Calls"

When I was born, she even tried to give me a Hawaiian name, but my dad ended up naming me. So the Hawaiian music, history and "aloha spirit" has run thru my blood for years.

Little did I know that one day many years later, I would meet a "local boy" from Manoa Valley in my Alabama church and end up marrying him. The foundation had been set many years before.

We now live in Florida and we listen to Hawaiian105 KINE every day on our computers and travel to Hawaii 2-3 times a year to see friends and family.

Whenever we hear the Brothers Cazimero sing "The Sound of the Sea Surrounds Me... we are in the islands, regardless of where we actually are. The music brings tears to our eyes and the soul of the Hawaiian people beat deep within our hearts. The warmth of the people and music draws you home, even if it wasn't really my home. We know one day that we will make the move back as my local boy misses home.
