At the end of our 3rd trip to Hawaii, my husband and I were in an ABC store just prior to leaving for the airport to fly back home to the mainland; I asked one of the clerks if he could recommend a Hawaiian album (this was 1979) and he pulled out Guava Jam and stated that it was "awesome".
Well, I played that album over and over and I fell in love with the music but even more than the actual music, I fell in love with a voice - Robert Cazimero's. I did not know who he was until we moved to the islands in 1983. It was then that we discovered The Caz and even though we now live back home on the mainland, we have every album/cd they have ever made. But we expanded our love of the Hawaiian music to include The Makaha Sons, Jay Larrin, Jerry Santos, Keali'i Reichel, Kapena, Cecilio and Kapono, and many others. Our Hawaiian music library is extensive and as I write this, I am listening to Hawaiian105 KINE, as I often do at work - you make my day.
