Long before my wife, Karen, and I moved to the Big Island and started ISLAND LAVA JAVA we were on our honeymoon from Arizona and walking the beach at Waikikii. As we walked past the old Pink Palace the Caz were performing in their show there and we sat outside and became "born again" followers of not only the Caz but all good old Hawaiian music.

Later we met Roland and Robert as well as Don Ho and many other good Hawaiian artists. On the Big Island we became good friends with John Keawe.

Because of family and health issues we are now forced to live in the San Diego area, but still listen to as much of the good stuff as possible.
