Daniel Ho & Tia Carrere
While stationed there at Hickam, my wife and I discovered we'd be having our first born son.
I love the music, and I wanted my son to also enjoy it as well. After hearing Daniel Ho sing "He Aloha Mele", I decided that would be a lullaby to sing to our son. I purchased and learned to play an ukulele and sang this song for him many times. As he grew, he would grab my uke and even pluck a string while I played. At times it would also calm him down from a crying spell. Since then, I bought a better uke and he can have my first one when he's old enough to play it.
Hawaiian music will always be something we have in our family.
