On Saturday, March 11^th, the American Red Cross along with the Hawaii and Waikiki Yacht Clubs will host the second annual “Race for the Red,” a charity yacht racing event with proceeds going towards Red Cross disaster relief and education.

This event is being held as part of the celebration of March is Red Cross Month, an annual recognition of the organization’s humanitarian efforts in the local community. The festivities begin at 11am and will see participants racing a route beginning at the Hawaii Yacht Club and returning to celebrate, with awards for those who helped raise the largest donation. All donations go directly to the Red Cross while also influencing final race standings and bragging rights.
