HAKU KEIKI
With Guest Appearances by Kimié Miner & Paula Fuga

Making their debut performance for one night only is a brand new collective of young Hawaiian artists to watch called Haku Keiki! The group just released their debut album “Children of the Sea (Nā Kama Kai)” featuring Kimié Miner on their hit single “Children of the Sea (Nā Kama Kai)” and follow up single, ʻHolo Ka Waʻa” with Paula Fuga and Taimane.

“Children of the Sea (Nā Kama Kai), has been embraced with so much love and enthusiasm. I am so very proud of Haku Keiki for finding the power in their voices in this debut album.” said GRAMMY-Nominated Producer and Haku Collective President, Kimié Miner. “They have awakened and utilized their talents and are now part of the beautiful tapestry created through Hawaiian mele.”

Haku Keiki is committed to preserving the history and legacy of Hawaiian music with several of its members coming from revered musical families, including 22-year old Dillon Pakele and 17-year old Kamalei Pakele. They are the children of the late Kaulana Pakele, lead singer of Mana’o Company. Mālie Lyman (age 16), is the granddaughter of the great, Genoa Keawe and made her singing debut accompanied by her own iconic steel guitar playing on track 3, Papahānaumokuākea.

Haku Keiki comprises mentees from both Haku Collective’s “Melecraft Songwriting Workshop”and Nā Kama Kai’s “Alaka’i program”. Their 11-track album “Children of the Sea (Nā Kama Kai),” celebrates the mission of O’ahu nonprofit Nā Kama Kai, dedicated to empowering keiki to embrace a deeper sense of aloha and personal understanding of their kūleana for Hawai‘i’s natural environment.

“Music is a powerful and meaningful way to share ʻike kupuna (ancestral knowledge) with Hawaiʻi’s most precious resource, our children. Haku Keikiʻs gift of mele combined with NĀ KAMA KAI’s mission to empower youth by creating safe and fun access to the ocean, has led us to an incredible partnership with HAKU Collective.” said Nā Kama Kai Founder and CEO Duane DeSoto.
